riviera Posted October 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2021 I know it’s quite a walk from the ship to the taxi area and my husband can no longer walk long distances. Anyone recall if there are golf carts at the pier to assist OR do you know if ship sponsored shore excursions pick up at the pier? thank you! bac513 Posted October 29, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2021 There used to be a small golf cart like jitney which ran up and down the pier. Would tip the driver a couple of dollars.
JFontaine Posted October 29, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2021 In our experience the jitney cart was not reliable. Either the driver went to lunch for an hour, or there were a dozen people waiting for rides at a stand in the middle of the port area (not near the taxi stand). It was a real mess. If you are there on a day that there aren’t 8 ships in port with 25,000 people, and you have more patience than me, your experience might be better. One trick that I learned at some of these ports the taxi dispatcher or port security sometimes (depending on where security is in the process) have a walky talky or phone where they can call for assistance. Good luck to you.
