Thanks for the link. It also provides info on the disposable 2.5 filters which I typically insert into cloth masks. Apparently, they’re even more effective than I realized. 🙂

Of course, recognize that this is a website for a business that sells masks and filtration products.  And it's amazing how the products they sell are rated so highly!!

Masks should fit snugly, and so will leave a mark on the face, but should not be painful (uncomfortable, yes, probably) 

The same spec masks from different manufacturers will have different sizing and fit,  one that suits a person of craggy countenance will probably not suit someone of chipmunk like countenance. There is also the problem of variable proboscis prominence. 

Sometimes gently squashing the mask top/bottom or side/side improves the fit. 

The easy test is to put it on, then spray perfume (or similar) if you can smell it, the mask isn't working.

And that would prove nothing, as breath expelled directly forward has zero relevance to air and particles coming in from the side.
