Apex with Young Kids (7 and 9)

Thinking about doing a last minute holiday cruise on the Apex and was wondering if there’s much to do for the younger kids. How is the kids club? Is it fully open and were there any restrictions on times you can use it?  If you’ve done a recent sailing, how full was the ship and were there a lot of kids onboard? Our kids will be fully vaccinated by then. What onboard activities are available for younger kids? The itinerary for the cruise we are looking at isn’t that great so there will be lots of sea days.

I can't answer your questions as I don't sail with children. However I would think you would be much happier on a Royal Caribbean ship with kids. Way more for them to do, especially Oasis class. We were on 2 celebrity cruises the past few months, less then 5 kids on each.

Got off the Apex a few weeks ago, and there were about 140+ kids who seemed quite happy joining the ‘Camp’ where they had fun and met a lot of the other kids and the parents could have free time. My daughters loved Celebrity when they were kids and still cruise and we are taking them and our grandkids on an Alaska cruise.

Yes, Royal has a Ton for kids, but the one’s I saw on Celebrity seemed to greatly enjoy it all.

Celebrity has always had excellent children’s programs, usually during holidays there are more kids.

That’s great information and exactly what I needed. Thank you!  We did look into Royal as well but it just didn’t work for us timing wise and husband and I had sailed with celebrity years ago pre kids and loved it. Honestly wanted the more calm atmosphere of Celebrity but wanted to make sure the kids will enjoy it as well.

We did look into Royal but unfortunately it just didn’t work for us timing-wise. Am definitely looking forward to checking out the Oasis class at some point in the future, especially once my younger ones gets tall enough for the slides!

Which holiday sailing?  The 20 or 27th?  We will be on Apex the 20th but with no kids so can’t comment regarding that. Maybe post on the roll call for that sailing. There could be more info there and others sailing with children that can share.

The 20th!  It’s looking more and more like a reality for us and getting excited! Good idea on the roll call.
