Unvaccinated Children must be tested within 72 hours, but day 2 is Christmas and day 3 is Sunday. Disney test provider suggested independent test because the delivery of theirs test kits by UPS was unlikely to make it to them and analyzed before our embarkment. Any suggestions on PCR test with 24 hour results acceptable by Safe Passage?

72 hours prior to embarkation (generally around 1-4 pm), would be 4 pm on the 23rd of Dec.

From the DCL website:

Guests have multiple options for completing their Pre-Trip COVID-19 Testing:

  1. Guests residing in the United States can purchase a pre-trip, at-home PCR test directly from the Safe Passage website by Inspire Diagnostics. Tests must be completed and mailed back 3 days before sailing or dropped off at one of the Central Florida testing locations offered by Inspire Diagnostics listed below.
  2. Guests can use the Safe Passage website to purchase and schedule a pre-trip test to be performed at one of the Inspire Diagnostics testing locations set up for Disney Cruise Line Guests near the cruise terminal, one to 3 days before their sail date.
  3. Guests may obtain their PCR test from any independent testing provider.

When are you arriving prior to cruise?  Can you not schedule a test at the cruise terminal?  Possibly at the airport?

More from the website:

Guests who ordered an at-home test kit but did not complete or mail it to Inspire Diagnostics via UPS can make an appointment to take their pre-trip COVID-19 test for no additional charge at one of the Inspire Diagnostics testing locations set up for Disney Cruise Line Guests near the terminal.

Inspire Diagnostics Testing Options Near the Cruise Terminal
Guests also may use the Safe Passage website to purchase and schedule a pre-trip test to be performed at one of the Inspire Diagnostics testing sites set up for Disney Cruise Line Guests near the cruise terminal, performed one to 3 days before their sail date. The cost is US $98.33 per test (which includes a 3.5% processing fee). Results take 24 to 48 hours to process and will be sent to the email address provided during the registration on the Safe Passage website.

Thanks for the link which we’ve peruse d over and over. Safe passage told us that getting their test kit back to them with the busy holiday delivery schedules was unlikely. We will not be in Orlando the day before the cruise so the availability to get one at the airport or terminal is not an option. We have a PCR test for the kids scheduled for the 23rd but we don’t know if they will be sending results on Christmas or the Sunday we board. I was hoping another passenger on this cruise would provide advise.

Do vaccinated guest have to take a PCR test?  Is a antigen test approved by Disney Cruise Line?

From the DCL website:

Currently, Disney Cruise Line continues to require all vaccine-eligible Guests (based on US eligibility requirements) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at the time of sailing. This will be a requirement for all Guests (US and international) ages 5 and up for sailings beginning on or after January 13, 2022. Guests who are not vaccine-eligible because of age must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 3 days and 24 hours before their sail date. Guests ages 5 through 11 may complete this testing requirement in lieu of being fully vaccinated for sailings that depart before January 13, 2022. Guests 4 years of age and under must complete the testing requirements. The test should be a NAAT test, rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted.
