Pre-cruise covid test

Cruise is 1/9. For those doing the 96 hr pre-cruise covid PCR test so that you're covered if you test positive at the pier, are you finding that you get the results in time?  Wondering if scheduling both a PCR and a rapid test is a good idea.

I’ve been tested 3 times in the last 2 months. Two from Kaiser and one from CVS. All 3 results came back within 24 hours. I’m sure there are exceptions, but from what I’ve found out, it’s the norm for my area.

FYI Since Kaiser administers PCR tests we were afraid my husband might get a false positive because he had had a breakthrough case but was fully recovered.  Got a rapid test elsewhere, submitted the invoice to Kaiser and were reimbursed the entire cost within 3 weeks.

I got a free rapid PCR from a community CVS testing site this morning and got the results back in 2 hours. Had to book the appointment about 2-3 weeks in advance. Zero appointments available rest of weekend in the Austin area

Had a free PCR test from our health dept this week.  Had results in about 24 hours.  The lines for testing, no appointments, are getting longer and longer though.
