tmneill Posted March 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2022 We are trying to find some misplaced passports while we wait for our 2 week window to schedule an in person appt to get them replaced. Question is.. If we don't find them and aren't able to get an appt - Has anyone had any issues traveling with minors and just using a Birth Certificate? One is 13 and one is 16, I know the 16 year old needs a government ID.

There should be no issues using a BC on a closed loop sailing, regardless of age.
gingersvp Posted March 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2022 I have absolutely cruised on just birth certificates for all 3 of my kids every time. I had an issue with my ex and getting passports so didn't have a choice. I finally got their passports in February of 2020 and are going to break them out in 2 weeks. Woohoo! But yes, you can absolutely cruise on birth certificates with your teenagers.
Homosassa Posted March 4, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2022 Check the ports on your itinerary. There can be ports where the port country requires passports for the passengers traveling by cruise ship.
