Coral…difference between Provence and Bordeaux dining rooms

We are new to Princess but have booked a Queensland cruise. Dining options are Bordeaux or Provence dining rooms. What is the difference. We are long tome HAL cruisers and always opt for table for two. We normally choose late dining but rarely make the shows. This time we old like to select a time that would enable us to go to an 8 pm show. Would the 6:20pm time slot work?

many thanks

The two DR's are similar - one on top of the other Decks 5 & 6.  Prior to DineMyWay, Bordeaux on Deck 5 was Anytime Dining and Provence on Deck 6 was Traditional.  It's likely to be mixed up now as it is on larger ships with three DR's.

Showtimes are not generally at 8:00pm.  Normally one earlier and one later than that when a headline show is schedule in the theater.  There is a live thread on an Island voyage right now and you might get an idea from any Princess Patters posted there.

Same menu in both. Provence will have a section blocked off for Club Class Dining, thus less available seating for those not in Club Class Dining. It is difficult to say what time to dine in order to make the shows since there is no current experience. The Coral does have two showrooms, The Princess Theater and The Universe Lounge. Some evenings there could be shows in both at different times. Rule of thumb the earlier you dine the easier it is to make shows, allow 2 hours to dine, less if you have a table for two.

In the past we always selected anytime dining and altered out dining time each day to fit what we wished to do in the evening. I don't know how this would work now with DMW.
