Somerset Cruiser Posted May 23, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2022 We are considering a transatlantic on Ventura in December, Caribbean and back. Any opinions on the positioning of balcony cabins? Aft is an option, other than the potential extra movement are there any other advantages/disadvantages? As it is a return voyaage I guess there is no advantage to Port or Starboard. Thanks in advance.
sandancer Posted May 23, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2022 For a Transatlantic in December we would always go for mid-ships and a lower deck. We prefer an aft cabin but know from experience that you do feel the motion more.

We found on our 3 round trip Caribbean cruises that port was much better, you get sun on the balcony until later in the day on the way out, compared to starboard on the way home.
roods Posted May 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2022 If motion doesn’t bother you go for aft cabin. We had one on a recent transatlantic, when it was too windy on deck our balcony was sheltered and sunny.
