Using an App on ship

I know I can use Royals App without purchasing internet/WiFi, however am I able to use any other apps? My husband has a cochlear implant that uses an App to control volume, etc. Thanks for your assistance.

All apps which don't need an internet connection to function will work as expected.

I have hearing aids that I can control with an app. The hearing aids are connected to the app via bluetooth and do not need internet to connect. I assume your husband's app works the same way.

The App he uses can be used in airplane mode, so does that mean it will work without purchasing internet?

Yes.  I'm in the queue  for an implant and that's what the audiologist told me when we were looking at various devices.  Plus my Oticon Opns work in airplane mode.  What doesn't work or doesn't work well without wifi are the translator apps like Live Transcribe or Easy Talk Pro or DeafNotes.

Some phones turn bluetooth off when you switch to airplane mode. Make sure, if you are in airplane mode, that bluetooth is turned on.

OP: Very interesting thread and thank you. This is something I will now know when clients start discussions. I had no prior knowledge of this topic. It is just not something I am confronted with even monthly. I enjoy learning new things and thank you again.
