So confusing finding a good Travel Insurance. 😩

New Jersey to Bermuda, 5 days.

WANT: Cover Covid illness along with other illness before Departure.

Medical expenses due to illness, accident, death while aboard Ship and in Bermuda.

Looked at Tripinsurancestore. Began purchase but then noticed IMG Insurance Policy said "International not Usa". So thought came, if we start in Usa and something was to happen on the way in or out of Usa port, THEN what ??? Not covered ??? Couldn't reach anyone over phone.

Help.

The policy you are talking about will cover you for an international trip from the time you leave home until you return home.  But, call them to make sure this is the best policy for your needs.  They are there at 8:30am EDT.

If you want a policy that will cover trip cancelation due to COVID/other illness before departure, most if not all policies will do this as long as you meet any pre-existing conditions clauses.  If you want medical coverage before departure (from your home), I am not aware of any policies that would cover you.

Did you just look at that one policy?  If so, and it didn't meet your needs, why not look for other policies.

And did you leave a message so they could call you back?

Finally, do you have medical insurance here in the USA?

However, the best thing is to speak with someone and discuss any appropriate policies.  That wil save you searching through various coverages in case you are able to notice something that shows it won't be what you want.  (And I'm not entirely sure if that's the case with what you described unless you have no medical insurance in the USA.)

Unless you have other *very* specific needs, there should be several choices available through TIS.  They deal with several different travel insurers, and at least some of them offer more than one type of coverage.

But there is no substitute for speaking with the experts, who can discuss your specific travel insurance concerns and then suggest the most appropriate policy(ies) for you.
