Viking Amsterdam and Basel pre & post hotel

Working with a TA for May 2023. (11-18) on Longboat Gersemi. Has anyone sailed that route on this boat? AMS-BSL   Going for premium economy. Is it worth paying the extra Air+??

You soon can price PE on your own, and on preferred airlines.  After you know what the DIY alternative amount is, you can compare against the Viking PE cost quote.  You likely can get that same preferred itinerary at the Viking price by paying the Air+ custom fee and PE upcharge.  

 

Viking air gets you transfers to/from ship included, if you fly on begin/end dates of cruise.  Viking air will help redirect your flights if problems happen in transit.

 

We did Viking's post +2days Lucerne and it's nice area, historic classic Hotel Schweizerhof by the lake.

 

You should meet others on this itinerary and share information at the separate Viking River Roll Call for the Viking Rhine 2023 group.

We are doing Basel to Amsterdam in September 2022.  We booked last October and paid the extra for Viking Air Plus.  If you do air with Viking, the Air Plus can let you request the booking of your flights much sooner than Viking will book if you don't do Air Plus.  This can let you choose your seat assignment much earlier, increasing the odds of getting the seats you want.  Air Plus also lets you have much more input into the flights you get.  We researched and presented our TA with 3 possible flights in order of preference and got our first choice.
