Beach recommendations for Corsica (Ajaccio)

So you do have some choices.  But given the short time in port you might want to simply walk over to the city's own beach (Plage Saint-Francois) which is within walking distance of the pier (towards your left).  You should take some towels since I do not recall seeing lounge rentals.   There are also quite a few cafes/restaurants between the port and that beach.  When we were most recently in Ajaccio (April) the moules et frites were wonderful :).  But in April there is no way anyone was heading to the beach.

in Ajaccio on a Sunday mid-Sept. best beach (or other option)? We wanted to rent ebikes, but closed on Sundays.

The water could be getting a bit cool by then.

Thanks. Since we are the only ship in port that day, it shouldn't be too crowded then 😉

Ajaccio is itself a rather attractive town  to explore even should you have no interest in Napoleon or his family and you may decide to have a beach/town mix to fill your day.

There have been a number of recent posts for Corsica and Ajaccio  and I think you would find it helpful to read them.

The more you read the more options you will have and you can then decide which which ones  appeal to you personally.

Finding previous threads is very easy.

Go to this FRANCE PORTS  forum, but not to any individual thread.

Just under your username you will see an empty SEARCH BOX,

Input  the name of  Ajaccio  (and perhaps a second try  afterwards with Corsica as Ajaccio is often mentioned within threads about Corsica.)

click ON THIS FORUM from the dropdown under the search box.

Hit the little magnifying glass and all previous threads with that name will appear in the results ready for you to read.

Repeat the process for other individual ports (on the correct forum if they are in eg italy or France or wherever)
