Go to beach in Philipsburg or take a taxi some other beach?

We will be in St. Marteen in late January, 11AM - 6 PM.

Just want to sit on the beach, maybe swim if the water is warm enough and grab a late lunch?  Relax.

Should we just ferry over to Philipsburg or is it worth the hassle of a taxi ride to another beach and if it is, which one?

Remember, Great Bay can be tainted by effluent.  It’s also just mayhem.  Go to Orient Beach, not the nudist end, better beach, views, bars, cleaner sea etc.

Which is the non-nudist end?

Is it easy to find taxis going back to the cruise port?

Non nudist is to the North of Orient Resort.  Consider Coco Bar and Grill -
Plenty of taxis for return, but your outward driver will be pleased to collect your party for the return at a time suited.  Best to allow an additional journey time of 15 minutes for heavy port traffic.  Your driver will advise also.

How much is a chair/umbrella at Coco Beach? If we rent chairs/umbrella does it include lunch or is that a la carte? Place looks beautiful!

Pre COVID

2 chairs + 1 umbrella = $20 per set

Sadly, lunch was not included in the $20 fee -

in addition to the A La Carte there was a daily specials board

Best to book one’s stay in advance.
