Transport from Dun Laoghaire to Dublin

We are in port for 12 hours but the NCL Dublin HOHO bus with transfer excursion is only for 2hrs - 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  To stay on the HOHO Bus without getting off takes 90 min  to do the route.  I called NCL and there are no options for a later transfer.  So ... I am looking for advice on how to get back to the ship on my own so I can see more of Dublin.  This is a tender port so leaving at 8:30 would allow for an early start to the day.

Hoping someone who has taken this excursion will share their experiences.    (Cross Posting with NCL board)

take the local train "Dart" between Dublin and Dun Laoghaire.  The Dart station is close to where the ship's tenders drop/collect pax.  Use Tara Street or Pearse Street Stations in Dublin as they are close to Trinity College etc.

We were in Dublin 10 days ago. As we tendered ashore, on the road opposite the port exit was a green hoho bus. Tickets were €25 pp (senior) and included a ride into Dublin, one day access to hoho bus and a train (DART) ticket from central Dublin back to Dun Laoghaire. We decided to stay on the bus for the full circuit and then walk around central Dublin (O’Connell St, Trinity College and Temple Bar) followed by a lovely lunch with live music in St John Gogarty’s. A little more sightseeing before walking the short distance to Tara Street to get the DART back to Dun Laoghaire. A brilliant day.

That is great that they now include Dun Laoghaire as a pick up point (when cruise ships are in).

It is not mentioned on their website dodublin.ie and that seems like a great price!
