Just offered free cruise from casino

My wife received a free cruise offer from Norwegian cruise lines from the casino we frequent. It seems we get first and second guest free. However we have a handicapped daughter, 31 years old that would need to come with us. We are platinum Carnival cruise line guests with 19 cruises under our belts. It would be a very special event and experience for us and my daughter to try Norwegian. We are Norwegian virgins. Live 50 miles south of New Orleans.

Current promo offers 3rd and 4th guest free?

Sure, if you're paying.  But on a casino comp, I don't think so.  Plus, the comp is likely for an inside cabin so you'll probably want to pay to upgrade that.

you get all the current promos on the casino comp, so 3rd and 4th guests are free.  All of my cruises have been on the casino comps (from land based casinos), and you get the offered promos.  It was really nice when they offered free gratuities or free flights.  Yes, you'd have to pay to upgrade to a higher cabin if you want.  But you can also just get the inside if that is OK with you (assuming your comp is for an inside).  You can also book a handicap cabin which will be bigger than the regular insides

Well,,, hopefully, welcome to NCL.

Call the casinos at sea number and see what they can offer you.

Things to expect:

NCL charges a $20 per person per night admin fee on casino bookings for guests 1 and 2. So that is $240

You are responsible for paying port charges and taxes (that's the same for casino bookings on most cruise lines)

You can upgrade to any class of room by paying the difference in fare between your comp'ed room and the cabin class you want to be in

You will be given the opportunity to bid on a better room (upgrade). But nothing is guaranteed. If you want a better room, do it at booking time.

There are multiple promotions. Internet credit, shore excursion credit come at no additional cost. For a Specialty Dining Package, you pay for the gratuities on the retail prices of the package (1 or 2 specialty dining meals for 2 depending on the level of your comp) that's about $18 per person. Same for the Adult Beverage Package (unlimited drinks under $15 (which is most drinks)) thats about $139 per person.

You may be able to get your daughter in there for "free" (just port charges and taxes) with current promotions

You can pick the room you want... so work with the agent to get the best room for you, especially if you need an accessible room.

On many cruises 15%-25% of the passengers on the ship are sailing under a land-based certificate, direct comp from the NCL Casinos at Sea, discount from a land-based casino, or discount from NCL Casinos at sea. If you wife gambles a bit on the ship, you may get your next cruise comp'ed or discounted directly from NCL.

Good.  I wasn't sure if the 3rd guest had to pay the admin fee or not.

Be sure to inform casino-at-sea when you ask and confirm the booking of your 31 years old daughter's special needs status and other/related requirements, etc. etc. so they can note it on the reservation.  Depending on the specific NCL ship(s) you have in mind to book and cruise on - subject to confirmed availabilities at the time of booking confirmation, make it as far in advance as possible as the small & limited # of "over-sized" cabins are quickly taken by other guests with needs - you will all probably appreciate and welcome the extra space.  Once confirmed, you should contact special needs at NCL directly, and learn & find out all you can, what is doable and make the requests, and have it noted/added to the booking.

I'm sure you are mindful of it, please pay attention to ports with tendering requirements as there are limitations and exclusions, and sometimes - one might instead enjoy the day onboard.

The cabin is not always an inside one. Depends on your play history. I have been sailing with NCL for years only on the casino and have been offered balcony cabins or better. Have also upgraded each time at a very nice rate, Best thing to do is call and see what they will give you. Good Luck.

no need to call.  the OP is using a land based casino comp.  The certificate they were handed will show which ships/cabin type, and sail dates they are entitled to.  And yes, the cabin can be something other than an inside, but it will show on the cert.  Once they have completed their first NCL cruise they can call CAS directly and inquire on comps based on their play on the ship

Thanks for all the info. Always wanted to try another Cruiseline.

Come and try NCL!

Book one of the newer ships: (Encore, Bliss, Joy, Escape). Second newest would be Getaway and Breakaway. The newest ship, Prima, has not been included on most certificates (e.g., land-based promotional certificates or a Seven Star free cruise).
