Insuring Vouchers and pre-existing contitions

We are booked on a Viking Expedition cruise to Antarctic for december 2022 (so too close to just move the booking).  My husband must have an aortic valve replacement.

 

We bought insurance for this trip through Viking's offered insurance which includes Cancel for Any Reason and that refund would be in the form of vouchers.  If we do not take the vouchers we would loose over $3000/pp because of incentives etc.

 

We would prefer vouchers because our traveling days hopefully are not over.  However we need to be able to insure the vouchers when booking a cruise including his pre-existing condition.

Do the vouchers represent money you had paid or any bonuses you received from Viking? If any are bonuses, you can't insure bonuses.

Will Viking be adding the value of the incentives ($3,000/pp) to your voucher?  I didn't think they did for River and Ocean cruises.  Different for the Expedition cruises?

I think it is a combination of monies paid and booking while onboard and past customer  bonus.
