Guarantee room assignment

Is there a standard for when a guarantee room assignment is made?  I am doing a b2b on the Dream and one cruise is a guarantee.  I am just anxious to see if the rooms are the same or similar.

Especially a B2B   I would want to the same cabin so I dont have to unpack,   pack and unpack again

They can assign the room any time, up to when you arrive at the port. I found out recently that part of it depends on how well that sailing is selling.

Sometimes it is pretty quick, but as others have said it can be right up until you sail.

 

We have done this maybe 4 to 6 times, and my personal experience has always been that we had our room assignment WELL before we sailed (at least several weeks minimum).  Sometimes we had it assigned within just a week or so of booking.

 

I will say, for the most part we don't do it because we know there is always a chance you will end up in a room you don't like, but we have been lucky.  All assigned rooms we have received have been very good and a room we might have picked ourselves.

I’ve done a lot of guarantees, traveling as a single. I have had my room assignment months before and I have had it assigned at the ship. It all depends on how the ship is selling. If the room location is important to you, you might choose to upgrade to an assigned room.
