What Happened to Pride Today??

Sorry if this is a repeat but I don’t see a discussion about this during a quick look at the first couple pages. Pride was supposed to be in Kona today .  In looking at cruise mapper it is cruising north from Hilo and is not quite at the north end of the big island. Does anyone know the reason for the delay?

According to CruiseMapper it looked like POA docked at Hilo yesterday (as well as the day before) instead of Kona.

 

Kona is a tender port … windy? High waves?

 

Also the volcano Mauna Loa is erupting ….

According to some online trip reports the VOG was too heavy and also high winds made it risky to tender.

I’m in Kona and the vog has not been bad here.  Both Princess and Safari Explorer have been here in the last few days. However it WAS gusty so the tendering could have been the problem. So glad it was okay a couple days ago when my sister and BIL were here on a port day.

On Spirit a couple of weeks ago, we skipped Kona due to expected tidal surges in the port.  Same may be the case for Pride.
