Cheers Drink Package: To buy or not to buy

For those of us "in good drinking shape" then even an 8-day cruise is worthwhile to have Cheers.  Our last 8-day cruise had three ports.  Even on the port days we hit at least 10 drinks each.  Plus a couple of specialty non-alcoholic coffees and a few waters per day.

 

There are a myriad reasons why Cheers will or won't work for any particular person.  One of these days I'll decide that I don't need a drink in my hand most of the time while on board.  Today is not that day...

Yeah, I meant per person, thought it was implied. Yay internets.

 

Here's how my wife and I decided Cheers was a good bet for us...

 

1 bloody mary w/ breakfast (or whiskey for hair of the dog)

2 beers by the Serenity pool during the morning

1 beer with my burger or burrito for lunch

2 more beers by the pool

1 at the Alchemy Bar before dinner 

2 glasses of wine with dinner

1 cocktail on the way through the casino to the show or piano bar

Easy 2-4 more between nightly events.

 

Wife matched me drink for drink, usually with liquor when I had beer.

She had plenty of specialty coffee, I grabbed Red Bull or Powerade between every drink, and stocked bottles of water in the room.

 

Hands down, Cheers is made for people like us. Until we make that decision like you mentioned.

Today is not that day for us either...

It's $990 total now for two people after gratuity if you buy beforehand, which includes the 10% discount, on a 7 day cruise.  I guess I need to visit this board more often because I do not remember it being that much on our cruise last May. I might just get the bubbles package and tone it down on the drinking this time.

It wasn't that much on our last cruise either, they've raised the prices on them recently, maybe a few times. Still worth it to us since we almost hit the 15 daily cap, but your mileage may vary.

Always worth it us.  Can grab waters or sodas to keep in the stateroom or to take on excursions.  If I do not like something, no worries.  You have to decide what is best for you.

3 college girl friends sailing in a suite...

One of us is a partier, one of us is a social drinker &, one of us is a teetotaler...  I used the calculator and my husband seems to think it will be cheaper for him (as he pays the CC bill LOL) for him to pay for everyone's CHEERS package than for me to purchase my drinks one at a time! LOL  

Do we all have to buy the CHEERS package?

If you are 21 or over then everyone buys CHEERS.  Your teetotaler could get coffee drinks, sodas, milkshakes, waters on CHEERS.  Alchemy Bar also makes mocktails.
