Transatlantic Cruise From NY : Which side best for sun?

This reminds me of the old Colonial India days, when people would travel from England to India, and the preferred sides were "Port Out, Starboard Home" to have the least shade, in those days of no air conditioning. "P. O. S. H" were stamped on their travel trunks, and "POSH" came to mean something high class.

The etymology of the word 'posh' is unclear, and this explanation is as valid as any!

I thought it came from the Spice Girl. Anyway, just to confirm, if you want sun sailing from New York, you want a cabin on the starboard side. Outside cabin preferably.

So you want the right side, just so you know you are going to have quite a few days where you will lose an hour each night.  It got old for us on our one Eastbound TA.  The weather also seemed to be cooler than going the other way in the Fall.  It seems it takes a while for the water to warm up and cool down.

My experience may have been uncommon but it was cool for most of the cruise.
