Ultimate Balcony Dinner on a small balcony.

Some years ago we had the UBD on Island Princess - it was fantastic.

We would really like to do it again on our upcoming Sky cruise,  but I just cannot see how our standard minisuite balcony can replicate our Island balcony. The photo says it all !

So, how do Princess do the UBD, on a balcony that cannot accomodate a table and two chairs .

I thought the mini suite on the Sky had enough room for a table and chairs?

If there’s not room for the setup or it’s raining, they will set it up just inside near the sliding glass doors.

Fabulous dinner on our last cruise!

I’ve never had the UBD.  Do they bring that table and set it up on your balcony if your balcony is large enough?

It was the same table that was on the balcony throughout the cruise.

Unless I am wrong, the majority of minisuites have the normal small balcony.

Sitting inside is OK, but doesn't compare to actually being out on the balcony itself.

They use your table if it is the big table. Some of the balconies have a tiny table, and in that case, they bring in a folding table and set it up.

I haven’t been in a mini suite on the Sky.

Did you find a pic of the cabin’s balcony?

Sorry, not a photo, but if you scroll through  to the end of the video you will see the size of the Sky balcony.

I looked on this site and they look a little tight, but have a table and two chairs.
You might put in your cabin number and find pictures of it or a similar one.

Anyone know why some ships do not offer UBD? On Majestic now and tried to book. Not available on this ship / cruise. Would have been nice considering all the cancellations due to Cyclone Gabrielle and now a medical emergency.

Ships started back slowly after the restart, from none at first.  Then, was because of covid.  Now, some say they don’t if they’re short staffed.  They do limit the amount they will do each evening.

Majestic may be a combo if both, or they have not started it yet.  Did they say not at all on your cruise?

We had 3 waiters on our Crown cruise. It was during dinner hours too.

They only did 4 each evening for the whole ship.

Was not a fully booked situation, just not available at all on Majestic. Possibly staffing levels. Tried to book as soon as on board. Was not an option ahead of time on the app either.
