Carnival Cruises Edinburgh Excursion

Has anyone done the Edinburgh and it's Castle excursion on Carnival? It's listed as 9 hours and trying to see if it's worth it or not? Does anyone know if it includes entry tickets for anything, or is it basically a bus ride from cruise terminal?

I'd be surprised if an excursion which mentions the castle doesn't include entry.  Do Carnival have excursion details on their website?

However if there is an option for an 'on your own tour',  which is probably no more than a bus to the centre, check out the price of castle entry tickets as it may be cheaper to DIY anyway.  Most buses drop off by the castle, but its easy enough to find.  Big stone building on top of the lump of volcanic rock!

From Glasgow

Ah, so presumably the port at Greenock. That explains why it is such a long trip. Glasgow is on the West and Edinburgh on the East Coast. Roughly 90 minute coach journey each way.
