I’m just starting to look at Antarctica cruises, so not yet consulting a travel agent.  I am confused on the Atlas web site pricing.   I will be going alone, but also may want a cabin other than those available as solo ones.  The pricing says something like price per person based on double occupancy where second guest is free.  I can’t tell if this means that is the price for the cabin if occupied by one passenger.  I would appreciate any insight on this so I can factor in accurate pricing as I gather initial information.

Not sure if there is any price cut for solo.  Our booking the second person was free, but subject to taxes and port fees.

The listed price per person is the maximum you will pay for a stateroom or suite. You may also get a single traveler discount.

I think I would call Atlas direct to get an indication of their official position.  I suspect you will find a discount. Wonderful trip, have been home 2 weeks and it still fills my thoughts.

A good TA is often better than a CSR at corporate.

Thank you.  I do plan to use an agent.  I’m just initially kind of getting an idea of the various pricing brackets.  It looks like all the companies have pretty deep discounts at times.

I would use an agent as well.  My recommendation to call to directly was to get a starting point and an indication on solo pricing in double cabin.
