Mendenhall transportation

We want to go to Mendenhall Glacier before an evening whale watching excursion so I'm wondering which company is more reliable returning from Mendenhall?  White bus or blue bus?  Or will busses not be full if returning at around 4:00 pm and we don't need to worry?  I've seen reports of waiting for 2 hours for a bus and we don't want to risk missing the evening excursion!  Thank you!

There are a bunch of kiosks when you get off of the ship that all sell their bus tickets. Mine was on a nicer bus than the blue bus which is an old school bus.

Can someone please tell me what time the kiosks open? We get in at 7 AM and was wondering if they are open then?
