I hate listening to people berate guest services and slam their hands on the desk. Her room is at 72 degrees and that proves their standards are low. She’s asking for corporate’s number. It’s ugly.

Oh man she stormed off yelling. Her husband sheepishly followed in tow. If he wasn’t sweating before, he is now…..

Is there a name for the husband of a Karen who can’t ever disagree with her publicly for fear of her wrath? I know there’s been discussion on what the male version of a Karen is (Terry, Ken, Chad…IMHO a male Karen is still just a Karen.) But we need a name for the embarrassed husband that quietly follows behind a Karen.

People need to remember this is a budget cruise line. That doesn’t excuse everything, but it means that some things are not going to be as perfect as you expected, and you gotta expect and accept that. I’ve had a couple mishaps on previous Carnival cruises, but I come back because on average it’s a great product and the value for what you pay is outstanding. And I never yell or slam my hands on the table because I’m a decent person and have worked customer service jobs (which should be a requirement for everyone to do 6 months in a customer-facing job for every single adult, then we’d be a much more polite society if people realized just how stupid they look throwing tantrums about small things.)

The couple next to me at dinner yesterday sent back three entrees saying “these are all HORRIBLE! Just inedible!.” (It’s fine to send back a dish if you’re not enjoying it, but you don’t have to be rude about it.) Meanwhile I sent back two clean entree plates and enjoyed every bite…can’t go wrong with the Indian Vegetarian, and the other one was just fine too. Not the best meal I ever had, but I don’t expect it to be at this price point.

I love Indian food, and this one never disappoints. I wish Carnival did more Indian dishes. (Splendor!!!) I love how on Norwegian they always have an Indian station at their buffet, which is also usually pretty decent.

What a great tour, small and casual, no running around and rushing trying to stay on schedule with a bunch of people's. Food looked great, I would be in heaven with all the pastry choices yum. I would be in trouble though with getting just a few souvenirs lol.

So you turned Diamond on this cruise? Coincidentally my husband and I turned Diamond on our Pride cruises last year but never received the welcome letter. We want to save both of our free dinners for our TP on the Luminosa in September. So it seems like you had to speak to guest relations to get this sorted out?

i did. Twice. They said housekeeping should have delivered it, they had a list of the few new diamonds on board and said it had been delivered, but I never received it. This time, they reprinted it. Dan from Vietnam was exceptionally nice and accommodating. I have to bring this to 555 on Sunday for the free meal. Not sure how the luggage tags work. I’ll try to use the upgrade on celebration in December.

We are sailing on a casino comp, so we have a spa balcony, cheers for 2, and $1,000 Freeplay in the casino. We only had to pay port fees and taxes which was $551.04 for the cabin. We also paid an additional $200/cabin but that's rebated back as OBC.

Thank you! There's a few more surprises post cruise. Post cruise we're spending two nights in brisbane, which will be new for us (We've been to the other major East Coast Australian cities). Then we will fly to Taipei, Taiwan, another first for us, and spend four nights there. Then back home to the States.
