Priority CAS boarding

I booked a cruise out of Miami through CAS. How do they know if you have a CAS reservation when they call for it, hopefully they check somehow?

Anyone have experience with using the priority CAS boarding?

Yes.  Ask the desk when checking in.  There will be people standing in a huge line waiting to get access to board, even though it's not their turn,  Go to the front of the line, show them your priority boarding, and away you go.  Should be boarding right after Haven and top tier NCL members.  Why people stand in line to get on the ship when they aren't called is beyond me.

Thank you! I'm assuming you get something when checking in then that says you have booked with CAS in order to show them?

The benefit is “casinos st sea embarkation”. Which gives you a specific line to stand in for check in. The only port that used to give priority boarding was New York. And you no longer see the casino waiting area in New York.

In our experience (15+ CAS cruises), the CAS desk is at one end, often next to the special needs  (wheelchair/ accessible) counter.

The check-in associate has no special access to casino hosts/programming, (s)he is simply assigned to that desk for embarkation.  If there are no CAS guests in line, that agent will assist the special needs line and/or the regular queue.

I assume that is just for check in then, there is no priority boarding/how would they know you're a CAS guest unless they gave you something at check in?

There is a CAS designation on the boarding pass paperwork.  But I don't recall anyone really checking for it, and there isn't anything else special at check-in.  The players card (to insert in slot machines/ swipe at the tables) and free-drink card are delivered to your stateroom with a welcome letter.

I don't recall priority boarding for CAS but I'm Sapphire so it's admittedly been a while since I would have used it.  Maybe I just haven't taken advantage/don't remember.  There is priority check-in for CAS, which is handy; the casino line is often shorter than Latitudes level.  They don't strictly enforce it; I've had people traveling with me, not on a CAS reservation, and if they go up to the counter with me there are no questions asked.
