Berlin by Train

For anyone who has ever done this excursion.  I would like to know how much “free” time you have in Berlin? Also after the train ride does Viking do any type of included tour of sights?  What time did the train depart back to the ship?

If memory serves, the day to Berlin was 12 hours in total.  Leave 7am and arrive back 7pm.

The train ride was 2-2.5 hours each way which left us with 7 hours in Berlin.

So, if you want to do your own thing, you have 6+ hours to get back to the train station.

We took an optional tour as we did not want to curate our own sightseeing.

We did not fancy all that train travel and so did two great excursions from Warnemunde instead.

Our solution to having more time in Berlin and having a Viking holiday at the same time.

We have just returned from the absolutely wonderful Elegant Elbe river cruise with pre and post stays in Prague and Berlin.

Does anyone remember if the train had outlets for charging your phone?

Your best bet is to always carry a power bank.

I am going to say no the train did not have outlets, but not 100% sure.

I have not done it yet, but … soon! Very soon!

To begin to answer your question, the included tour is just the round trip train.

Somebody else told you the timing.

There are quite a few optional tours you can purchase that include sightseeing while you’re in Berlin. I think you’ll find a nice variety from which to choose. Have fun deciding!
