Hotel Recs for Athens (Piraeus)...

There's really zero advantage to staying in Piraeus. It's only about a 20-minute drive from central Athens and there are plenty of taxis (and other methods) to get you to the port.

If you like historic hotels and are looking to splash out, I'd recommend the Grande Bretagne.

If you want a nice, modern city hotel with more moderate prices, I can recommend the Athens Gate (lots of recs here from others as well). Its a bit close to the Acropolis, whereas the GB is located on Syntagma Square.

Both have rooftop terraces with great views.
