In April, Japan required us to provide photographic evidence of a negative Coronavirus test taken within 72 hours of boarding the Explorer. The Japanese officials carefully studied the photos we provided.
Needless to say, it was pretty stressful to fly to Tokyo for the three day pre-cruise program not knowing for certain that you would test negative and be allowed to board. Hopefully those days are over now.
