City Tours or Get your guide?

Anyone have experience with either of them? Preference over one?

Both about the same price for a tour of the Colosseum and the other two stops. (forum and the Hill)

Are the tours for the same (approximate) number of people?  I always think of "Get Your Guide" as being for small private tours.

Pretty much and same price. One may have less, but not much. Get your guide has different tours with amount of people. Just wasn't sure if City Wonders or Get your guide is much better for different reason reasons. 

I'm spending way tooooooo much time on this! This is last minute as our tour company may not work out since we're a couple short and now I'm booking back up plans. We fly out in two weeks!

I don't have any actual experience with any of them in Rome but have used Get Your Guide and Tours by Locals in other locales very successfully.

We've used Tours by Locals in Spain, Portugal, and Italy (Rome).

We've also used Barcelona Day Tours (Spain Day Tours) and Italy Day Tours.

Small groups.

I've also used in large cities, the various "free" walking tours (tip what you want) - in London, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Oslo, Santiago, Buenos Aires.   I just google "Free Walking Tours XXXX" and take a close look at them.  Have had a lot of success with them (good guides).  Only negative is sometimes the groups get large (like 40).

I tend to avoid Viator only because they are a consolidator and broker and I prefer to go directly to the source.

I have only used "free" tours twice. The one in Barcelona was really good. The one in Prague not so much. I guess it depends on the guide.
