Ijmuiden cruise port (outside Amsterdam) - shuttles to town & back?

Hi,

I’m hoping that when we dock at Ijmuiden, there will be shuttle busses to take us to Amsterdam & back to the ship.  Many cruise ports have this service, usually much less $$ than a cruise ship excursion cost.  Carnival wants $70 USD pp for an “On your own” to Amsterdam & back to ship.  I have my mind set on a smaller boat for a canal tour, but when I add that cost to price for the transport “excursion”, it’s getting $$$.

The only shuttles to Amsterdam unfortunately will be the ones offered by your cruiseline. Public transport is possible but a bit complicated.

As an example (by checkihttps://9292.nl/en )  https://9292.nl/en/journeyadvice

You will need walk over a dike to get to the busstop. The bus will end at Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, walk to the trainstation and take a train to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Across from the station you will see some options for a canal cruise.
