Is there a shuttle running from the the Port to Cape Canaveral? Or is there any non-beach activity within an hour of the Port?

The Walt Disney World resort is 58 minutes from Port Canaveral.

Kayaking tours…Thousand Islands during the day, bioluminescence sunset and later)

Boat Rentals (many commercial companies and several get my boat boats)

Enchanted Forest, Sam’s House at Pine Island Conservation Area, Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center and hiking trails, Black Pointe Wildlife Drive, and many other Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL)

Numerous shooting ranges, local breweries, historical sites, random places to dolphin and manatee watch, go shopping in historical “old towns” or “downtowns”…

 

But, like most US ports…you will likely need a car to fully enjoy the area…or plan ahead with the local cab service (54 cabs), or make use of the local buses, if that works for your plans (321 Transit), or use Uber/Lyft because there aren’t any local area shuttles.
