MSC changed embarkation

MSC changed the departure port from Athens to Istanbul for my cruise. I already purchased non refundable airfare to Athens. Will they help compensate?

Probably not, but it can be a reason for a full refund of the cruise far when you cancel. But then you're still stuck with your flight to Athens.

I understand your airfare may not be refundable, but is a flight credit an option? Basically allowing you to use the money towards a future flight.

Did you purchase insurance? That would probably help.

Highly unlikely. We had our embarkation port changed from Shanghai to Singapore due to Covid and nothing was offered regarding the change. Our airline allowed us to change the destination though.

The only issue there is that the flight isn't cancelled. If the flight is still going ahead, the insurance company probably won't be interested.
