Tip Currency

First time on Oceania - we will be visiting France, Spain and Portugal and the ship will be cruising in the Mediterranean after we disembark.  Wondering whether crew members would prefer US dollars or Euros for incidental gratuities?  TIA

We tip in USD OR EUR.  Staff are just as happy with either.  Either way they have to eventually exchange the money to their home country currency.  I suppose we really should tip in Swiss francs.  Would be easier for us and it is the world's most solid currency.  Will probably do that next time.

Clearly either is fine and appreciated. 

 

Interestingly, the crew would need Euros on shore on the OP's Med cruise.... but I presume the ship currency is USD (for their costs on the ship).  

 

I'm sure they this all figured out + the best way to convert it to their home currency.
