We are looking at a Xmas cruises from NYC return to the Bahamas via Port Canaveral on the Meraviglia which we have sailed on at Xmas 2019 from Miami, looking for advice on average weather conditions in NYC around this time being Winter. Also any suggestions on transport and costs from JFK to the Financial district Hotel and Hotel to Red Hook port in Brooklyn ?

It will be cold, but there generally isn't snow then (but we could  have a blizzard--you never know). There is a fixed taxi rate from JFK to Manhattan (around $70, I think, plus tolls and tip). Can't help with your third question (hotel to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal).

Last December we had a low of 10F and a high of 65F, so your guess is as good as any New Yorker. The average Hi/Low was 49/38 last year for the month.

The best bet is a yellow cab from JFK which is a flat fee plus tip and toll but yellow cab you can direct them to not take a toll route unlike livery or ride share. Dial 7 car service would be around $90 plus tip and any toll.

Even in December, the NYC Ferry will run from Pier 11 Wall Street to Red Hook just yards away from the ship. The ferry is heated so that is an option for you at $4 a person. There are plenty of threads here about it.

Options are the same  Uber, Yellow Cab or Car Service.

Thanks for the info, we thought about the Ferry to RH but was not sure if it stopped close to the ship terminal. We have an option to fly in to Newark but that looks further away from the Wall street area.

Here is a  step-by-step video from a visually impaired individual:

The walk from the ferry landing to the entrance of the terminal is shorter than walking from one end of the ship to the other.
