Hey everyone.

We are booked on the November 19th transatlantic on QM2 this year and arrive in NYC a few days after thanksgiving.
does anyone know when they decorate the ship for the holiday season?
Is it usually before our voyage date ,maybe during or the one after?

Thanks in advance

fraser 🙂

Last year they started decorating QM2 for Christmas on November 27th about half way through the Caribbean cruise that departed New York on November 20th. If they keep to that pattern this year, you may just miss the decorations. The Caribbean cruise departing immediately after your crossing is my best guess for when they'll start decorating QM2 for Christmas this year.

Further to that, on the UK site, the first QM2 voyage with the "Christmas" tag is M336, departing New York on 26 November for the Caribbean, whereas the Original Poster's sailing is M335 departing 19 November does not have this tag. QV looks like going first on 24 November and QE the last on 3 December. Then all 3 have the Christmas Tag until, well, Christmas. So I think the OP will miss them.

When do they take them down?  Before 3rd January eastbound transatlantic from NY or during?

During the one QM2 Christmas cruise we have been on (2013), they took down the main Christmas tree in the Grand Lobby on December 31st to make room for New Year's Eve festivities there that evening. The remaining Christmas decorations were taken down by the end of the voyage on January 3rd.
