Azamara cruise on 10-22-23

Several cruise lines will be chasing after new ports.  I would expect it is going to be a few days before a new plan emerges.  Azamara is gong to have to negotiate access to ports in the Eastern Med and its probably harder now as a smaller company.  But they will come up with something!

I am assuming they will do that.  Our interest on the trip was the Holyland and Egypt.  I not sure if Egypt will be safe to travel too as things escalate .  Checking to see if travel insurance will cover canceling the trip.  We are experienced travelers and have been to many foreign countries. This was our third attempt to visit these two countries, Covid intervened previously. Third time might not be the charm!

Azamara have a reputation in the non-public facing side of the industry of doing everything at the last minute.  That, however, may make then already used to being fleet of foot.

I was in the final stages of setting up a trip to Israel, Jordan and Egypt for November – only waiting for the Israel pilgrimage to open up for booking.  They have a group in Israel right now :classic_ohmy:

Egypt would be a separate vendor (Nile River cruise package) – but I'm worried about being an American anywhere in the mideast right now.

So I'm looking at the fall trips I have sketched out for coming years, and debating between the Canadian Rockies and Amalfi/Apulia.  Nice to have such choices!

Update:  chose Amalfi/Puglia with an Australian tour provider (Ormina Tours).

Hello Jazz, DH and I just returned from a 5 week trip in September where we spent a week touring around in Puglia (and several days in the Amalfi area). We had not visited this area of Italy before, and found it very interesting and diverse, with it's own food and wine culture. I think you will love it! Cheers!
