Barcelona or Rome options for start of cruise?

Thanks for sharing this.  Seems like a good compromise, in my view.  

 

That new pier named, Moll Adossat, is where were boarded our cruise ship this past April.   It was a fairly easy taxi ride from our hotel on the La Rambla.   It is only a couple miles from the Columbus monument.  Maybe the shuttle they reference makes multiple stops, or maybe they are talking about an entirely different place. IDK.

The train from Rome to the seaport is a little over a half hour and fairly frequent and cheap.  But from the train station to the ship is too far to walk and the cabs are a rip off with very high fares for a 5 min. ride.  Be prepared for that.

The last time we were in Rome on a cruise, we took the next to last train back to give us some leeway for not missing the ship. It was very hot, and even hotter on the crowded train. And that was before a fight broke out on the train. 😒
