Anyone else load up pre cruise gift cards?

Check your credit cards for rewards offers before you join AARP. Several of mine have had $8 statement credits and membership was only $12 to join in the first place.

I will be on the Serenade of the Seas next week, then one night in a hotel before getting on the Vista. I am taking my casino “profit” from my last cruise onto the Serenade, and hoping to have money from the Serenade to use on the Vista. If not, I will order e-gift cards from AARP while I am on the ship and use the kiosk to input the numbers from the AARP email on my phone. It would prevent keeping track of unused gift cards in the case of purchasing in advance and then not needing them.

the number in the e-mail from AARP is not the gift card #, you need to click a link to get the card, then save the card to  your phone wallet-

 

I always save the e-mails just in case as well

I usually print them, label them with the cruise they were used on, file them, and then throw them away after the cruise. You are right, it would be better to have them in the wallet than to click the link at the kiosk. Thanks!

Just for those that may not be aware, you do not need to be a certain age to join AARP. Anyone can join. The $9 per year is worth it for what you save. It's the same with Costco for other cruise lines.

saves some paper too-you can also print to pdf, and then same them in a separate folder for each cruise
