Mike45LC Posted December 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2023 I have not been to the Caribbean in decades, but when I lived on the East Coast I did a lot of Caribbean cruises. In those days, I used to hop onto a safari tour bus in Charlotte Amalie for an island tour. No reservations, no tickets, just hand $XX to the driver. Is this still a thing? If not, what tour companies can you recommend? I'd like to drive up to Mountain Top, Drake's Seat, a very brief stop to see Magen's Bay. I am not looking for beach time or water activities. Viator has an excursion, but in the old days I would just hop on a safari bus.
Ms411 Posted December 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2023 You can do that at the dock. The taxis can't park on Main Street anymore so most tours are offered from the cruise docks. They all mostly go to the places you listed.

nw2this Posted January 17 #4 Share Posted January 17 How much are these Safari tours? Is this different from the $2 Safari bus? Or the $38 taxi island tours?
Ms411 Posted January 17 #5 Share Posted January 17 The safari is a local vehicle type which is different from a bus. The $2 safari does not do island tours. The transportation systems on St Thomss are very confusing!
