Royal electronic gift cards - how to apply

HI all.  How have you used your electronic gift card?   

 

I got it a day too late to use toward final payment, but their website says to just show guest services the email (code) and it will be applied.  So did you ever do this and did you have any issues?

My experience with their gift cards is that they can only be used for initial bookings. However I’ve never used an electronic one.

The old ones are much more restrictive than the new gift cards which work like any typical gift card these days.
