Using OBC For Excursions

Just double checking here - at 3pm (EST) today< I am able to sign up for excursions. I know to have a credit card handy, super fast handy. But I'm double-checking here to make sure OBC is used first, and it's used automatically (as opposed to my selecting to use it).

It depends on the type of credit issued. 

FYI using the ACH bank transfer is faster. It can be pre-entered, unlike credit card info.

It would appear from this thread that expenditures preboarding will not be covered by OBC

Again, it depends on the TYPE of OBC. We have one for our next cruise (and have for previous cruises) where it’s clearly stated it can be used for excursions. For those OBCs, it’s used when you pay for the excursions.

I did just find this on my "Payments" page - 

Vouchers and Shipboard Credits will be automatically applied to your purchases of excursions, beverage packages, and prepaid gratuities.

And my OBC was tapped for the excursions immediately. Thanks again, everyone.

Our OBC was used first also.  We used the ACH process to pay for tours and received the 3.3% discount right away.  This was recommended to us on our roll call and it worked very well.  We were able to book the tours we wanted immediately.

Where is the easiest place to see what Viking shows as your OBC? We have it from our TA, and it’s on their info, but does it show somewhere on MVJ, or elsewhere? Thanks.

The details are usually on your generated invoices.  If your booking is currently managed by a TA, you can ask them to generate one and FW it to you.  Those whose booking is directly with Viking can generate it manually in MVJ.
