we are sailing on the Constellation next week in a Retreat suite. My friend has mobility issues, although she can walk.  Can anyone tell me  how much walking is involved in the terminal? If she needs it, are there wheelchairs available at the terminal? Thank you for your help

Please call Celebrity’s Special Needs Group at (954) 628-9708.

You can certainly arrange for a complimentary wheelchair from the port to the ship. I recently used the service following surgery on a broken ankle, and am glad I did. The gangways can be pretty darn steep, and avoiding the possibility of a fall while dealing with mobility issues is important!

There is some walking required to get on the ship. Take a look at this [photo].

[1] is the location of curbside baggage drop off [photo].

[2] is the location of escalator and elevator to go up to the upper level to the check-in area [photo].

[3] is the security check area.

[4] is the main check-in hall.

[5] is the location of The Retreat check-in [partial photo].

[6] is the access point to escalator and elevator to go up to the next level, for ship access.

[7] is the access ramp to the ship.

Hope this helps!

@oslofjord you might want to hop over to the Disabled Cruise Travel Board and post your quesion.  There will be mobility challenged people on that board who have personal experience in Tampa.

Have you seen this?   https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/accessible-cruising

Check out Assistance and Assistive Devices.

Celebrity will also request that a Special Needs form be completed

My Dad is mobility challenged. We never made any special arrangements, but there were plenty of helpful people with wheelchairs waiting outside (Terminal 3 - Celebrity) to help us make the transfer onto the ship. This service was hassle free. Thank you, Tampa.

thank you everyone for your advice. This is all new to me. My friend is in her early 80s and refuses to give up traveling. This will make it much easier for her. Good cruising to you all

Never knew the Tampa terminal had a dedicated Retreat area. I have always walked into the chaotic main hall and made a left to where all the agents stand ready to check in guests.

Thanks for posting.
