*LIVE* NCL Jade Jan 7-12,2024

We talked to a couple that went to the Acrobat show and they described it as “boring”. They said there was very little acrobats.

thats their opinion.  We haven’t been. Passing along the feedback

Today was pulse fitness day while everyone was off the ship. It was empty. We had a good workout. It’s a nice gym. If you want to lift heavy weights the largest dumbbell is 50lbs. They have 45 lb plates to put on a smith machine for squats, deadlifts and bench press. I opted to use the machines to lift weights and cardio, which appear brand new and in great condition.

There is a walking/jogging track on deck 13 and it gets lots of use by guests. Also a basketball court aft

Enjoying The Haven sun deck 🕶️. There is not a Vibe on this ship. The cabanas on The Haven sun deck are really nice

The Haven room is one deck below with a steam room, hot tub, and small pool. It has a glass ceiling. There are loungers and tables with chairs where you can have food delivered from Moderna for breakfast and  Cagney’s for lunch. It is truly a Haven.

The pool deck is deck 12 and there are two pools with a gazebo/stage in between the pools. The pools appear long enough to do lap swimming, but I would guess lap swimming would be early morning or late night. I line the layout of this pool are. There is a bar at the pool deck, and then another bar on deck 13 overlooking the pool area. They serve grilled burgers at one of the bars, too. There is lots of tables set up and plenty of lounge chairs. The tables line the starboard and port side under shade and many tables with umbrellas in front of the bar.

Temps have been mid 70 and today upper 70s. Very windy but that’s winter in the Caribbean. Bring your flip flops, hat for shore excursion, swim suit, shorts and t-shirts and fun sundresses for day

Night time I have a light scarf to cover my shoulders, but I only need it if we step outside and walk around the ship. Gals can wear fun cocktail dresses and men can wear cotton dress shirts at night and be very comfortable. Now there is no dress code, except  Le Bistro and Cagney’s. Check the NCL web site for more info to be certain. We like to get dressed up for dinner

Cagneys doesn’t have a dress code like Le Bistro

We enjoyed dinner at Jasmine, Asian MDR. A glass of ice wine afterwards at the Champagne bar. This is lovely area to sit and have a drink. Oleg was playing Standards on the piano 🎹

The music fest must have been cancelled because all the chairs on the pool deck were stacked up and the stage was empty. We are having very windy weather and tonight might be a bit rough seas. Pools are sloshing around from ships rocking. This is normal January weather off the coast of Florida.

Have a good night 😴

Good morning from Port of Tampa,Florida and we are embarking on our first NCL cruise on the Jade. We have a beautiful suite in The Haven. I will provide daily updates and answer your questions as best I can.

Cruise ports are Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay. It’s a 5 night cruise.

Parking was easy. No long lines to get into the terminal. And check in has been very smooth.

Enjoy your adventure, I disembarked on Christmas Eve after 28th nights on the Jade.

You'll have a wonderful time it's a great ship.

🪄🥳

Usually one "side" of the ship is reserved for smokers. As someone previously posted, there is a cigar bar that you might get some residual smoke when someone enters/leaves; but usually smoking areas are reserved for the outdoor areas on one specific side of the ship by the pool and the Promenade or lifeboat deck. So if smoking is allowed on the port side for example, it will be on the port side by the pool and Promenade deck. Believe me, you'll know it when you walk by and know to avoid it throughout the cruise. 🙂 Hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for this detail. Chrissy is correct. I happened upon the smoking area on deck 13 , midship overlooking the pool area.

If I can remember correctly, on previous cruises on the Gem (Jewel Class), since smoking areas have been cutback, the smoking was on deck 13, port side, at the Bali Hai bar, which overlooked deck 12 pool area.

This would mean on the Jade it's at The Pit Stop, deck 13 overlooking deck 12 pool area as well. Both are right outside of Spinnakers. Also, in the casino and Cigar Bar.

On my last 2 cruises they actually expanded the smoking areas due to congestion these were away plus ships. They added the area overlooking the main pool on one side of the ship and expanded the smoking area in the back of the ship in H20 on one side.

Good morning. Today is a SEA DAY. Water is too choppy and weather not good to tender to Great Stirrup Cay. I got to the Pulse Fitness Center early because I figured the weather would prevent us from tendering to the island. It’s not as windy and it looks like the bad weather is going to pass over us by mid-day.

we don’t mind. We have been to Great Stirrup Cay several times. It is a fun place to hang out all day. We normally rent a cabana for the day. If you have questions about the GSC please ask and I’ll do my best to answer.

this is typical winter weather for the Bahamas/South Florida. As we get closer to February the windy weather starts to die down.

For your complimentary dining pleasure, you can enjoy the Grand Pacific, Azure, Jasmine Garden and O’Sheehans.

Reservations for dinner are recommended, but not required. If you don’t have a reservation then you might have to wait for a table at peak dinner hours. You can make reservations at the Dining reservation desk in the main atrium area.

we ate dinner at Jasmine last night and had a reservation at 7:30. Those without a reservation had to wait for a table. I overheard one guy say their wait was 45 minutes. Another option is the Garden cafe and that is buffet style

bar options on deck 6. I like the layout of this area. There are lots of options to choose your fav drink or try something new. I had an ice wine after dinner and listened to Oleg play the piano. Very lovely.

Thank you for doing this. I smile when looking at the familiar photos. We have a 2 week cruise in 2025 on the Prima. It’s going to some places we have already toured. We plan on treating those days like an all inclusive resort and stay on board. We used to be Sandals regulars until we realized cruising was half the price.

My pleasure.
We have had similar travel journey - sandals to cruising.

Prima is a beautiful ship, and you will enjoy taking the cruise, just to relax 🧘‍♂️on the Prima.

It’s making me smile, too.  Our first cruise in about 15 years was on The Jade, October 2021 to the Greek Isles.  It was one of the first out of Athens and Covid tests and masks were required.  The ship had a 38% occupancy.  It was an amazing cruise, but felt a little like a ghost ship.

Todays Daily

We are not at GSC because of windy weather. Attached is the Daily we received yesterday evening.
And a revised Daily brought to us by our room steward. It is a sea day 🌊
