Sapphire Beach

Thinking of going here in February (NCL Encore, 2/7/24) for relaxing beach day.  Tried search feature but no real answers to my questions, so any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cost of taxi to/from port?

Chair/umbrella rentals available?  Cost?

Restaurant/bar/facilities readily accessible?

Love to snorkel - right from beach?

With 4 ships in port that day (Disney Fantasy and Wonder of the Seas being 2 others), want to be prepared for the masses - been to St Thomas multiple times and just want to relax.

Thanks

Yes to questions except taxi fare. Somebody posted a picture of the taxi fares from Havensight in an earlier thread so you might try narrowing your search to taxi fares from Havensight 2023.

Thank you. 🙂

Yes, Sapphire does have chair rental and a restaurant with good food (We've vacationed there before in the condo's). I'm not sure the cost since we were staying there, our chairs were free. The other times we went we just threw a towel down under the grape trees for shade. They also had a little shop called The Beach Buzz that had soda, chips, coffee, breakfast sandwiches and I believe things like sunblock.

The restaurant and restrooms are right there at the beach. There's a very large building that is open to the beach that you can eat in at the tables and it's under a roof. These were the prices when we were staying there (2020)

Taxi's pull into the roundabout area all the time to pick up passengers.

If you like to collect sea glass, walk all the way down the beach, toward the marina, and the beach usually has tons of it.

Hopefully that helps a little.

  • 1 month later...

We ended up going to Sapphire Beach - lovely, comfortable, warm water, great restaurant.  A little rain, but did not "dampen" our spirits.

Glad you enjoyed your day. We love Sapphire Beach and have stayed in the condos before. We plan to go there is a few weeks on a cruise stop. This will be our first time going there as a day trip.

Do you remember how much chair and umbrella rentals are? Also how was it getting there from the cruise port? We thought of using the local bus but I'm not sure how much of our time it will take.  Thanks for any information you can give!

Think it was about $25 for chairs/umbrella - our friend had to go into the store to purchase so I was not there.  Taxis were plentiful, both coming and going.  Very enjoyable day, in spite of the rain!

Thanks! Can't wait to get there! It's such a beautiful place.

Have fun - just watch the drop off at the shore line - have a funny video of my friend trying to get out of the water on the slope!  Enjoy

Great choice! Sapphire is Paradise on St Thomas! The only beach we love even more is Lindqvist (Smith Bay Park). But we take towels to lie, on, and grab a couple baguette sandwiches and drinks at Moe’s Market in Red Hook on the way.

But for a beautiful beach, with gorgeous  “sapphire” shades of water, and amazing views, Sapphire is it!

We’ve stayed at SBRM multiple times, no place compares for sea-front accommodations! 😉
