Walking to beach? Beach Limerz or Fort James?

Will be in Antigua next week (first time) and wondering about walking to a beach. I

 

It appears Limerz or Fort James beach would be walkable (albeit a long walk) from the cruise port.

 

Does anyone have experience walking to either of these beaches? (looks like 45-60minutes walk). Is it a safe walk?  

 

Any comments on one beach over the other?

Following as we are going here in a couple of weeks as well and curious about beaches close to port and possibly in walking distance.

Just be a bit careful, we have been to Beachlimerz 3 times, you need to try and determine whether there is a swell or the tide is in? The beach will be none existant if so - if the sea is out, it's beautiful place and the food and drink is great.

I wouldn't.  There are no sidewalks and my personal feeling is that such a walk would be more of a chore and not be enjoyable.
