Sharing drinks on NCL

The OP's initial post has been accurately described by many here to be a plan to cheat the system and he/she is looking to see if there is the potential for them to get in trouble. The OP knows it's wrong and is selfishly only interested in if they will face consequences.

 

And, on the variety of cruises I've gone on, the bartenders are typically pretty busy and can't really keep an eye on everyone.

But, I guess what you're saying is, that it's ok to put the bartenders in a situation where they have to confront passengers who don't give a "bleep" about the rules or how it affects their fellow passengers.

“deceptive planning” is your spin. Not anything the OP said or implied. Pretty poor deception planning to do it in front of the bartender.  
 

So you’re saying that because bartenders are busy, they may use their discretion not to enforce every rule all the time. Ok.

of course the cruise line allows for a certain amount of sharing just like a business allows for a certain amount of theft in setting prices.  The bottom line is 'sharing' increases the price of the drink package.  It isn't an innocent thing.

Why would a bartender even be involved?  Their job is to swipe the card, enter two drinks (max) per swipe and prepare the drinks.  What else would they be doing?

some of them, perhaps. but not all.

 

as i said, the sharing of drinks is harder to predict.

 

the OP's plan would certainly be incremental to any known formula or data. . multiply that by the number of unknown others who also hatch new plans.

 

besides, it's moot... NCL doesn't want any sharing (shrinkage) at all. that's their idealistic goal. they won't achieve it, but they are entitled to make calculations or assumptions that do or do not include a shrinkage figure. but in a climate in which they are looking to pinch every penny, one would think they would do whatever they could to thwart cocktail thieves.

This is simply not correct.  What is the incremental cost to NCL for drinks six through twenty?  15 drinks x $1 per drink?  Fifteen bucks is hardly "far more valuable."
