Odyssey of the Seas returns to Port Everglades

Odyssey of the Seas just sailed. INTO Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) having left the same port about one hour ago. Any idea what’s going on?  Somebody get I’ll that quickly?

Most likely a medical issue.

Probably a medical issue with a passenger.

Just saw several City ambulances* come around the corner by the bow to the ship.  Pretty much medical it appears.  Hope all is well.  We'll get to see her go out again; a 2-for today.

 

* with the ship turning and coming back we wonder why the ambulances wouldn't already be there.

We were told in September, when we returned to port around 10pm instead of early the next morning, that the ambulances couldn't show up until the ship was docked. They said that is because they may be needed elsewhere. We were docked a good 30 minutes before they arrived. We had 2 non life threatening cases on board.

Unless the patient's condition is life threatening, then it would make sense to send an ambulance only when the ship is moored and patient is ready to be offloaded.
