Has anyone transferred their reservation to their travel agent?

Has anyone transferred their reservation to their TA?  Did MSC handle it well?  Were their any hiccups?  Thanks...

A few years ago I did (pre-pandemic or during the pandemic).  It wasn't a smooth process.  I don't remember the specifics but I recall forms to fill out and the cruise was ultimatey canceled...so that TA put in a lot of time for $0.  The TA I use now won't do a transfer...much easier for him to book direct.

There are travel agents who don't want to deal with MSC.  However, there are some (like mine) who offer generous discounts or obc.

We do it all the time. I generally wake up early to get on line to book our favorite cabins before travel agencies open. I call TA after 9 am and give her our booking number. It generally takes her 2 weeks of repeated calls to MSC before she gets our booking transferred with a new booking number. She also makes sure her new booking has all the proper discounts for Voyager and civil servant/military status, obc and extras, which we cannot do online.

Same as Morpheus, I do it on every cruise. I usually book thru the casino dept then send in a transfer form and move it to my TA who's agency offers a 10% obc discount on top of everything else.
