Having the Princess shuttle door to door sounds the easiest for me.  There is a Hilton attached to T2 that I stayed in 2022. I like the idea of staying there and walking back to the terminal the next day. 
 

I have 2 trips out of Southampton next year. The 2nd one I’ll stay a few days in London the day before and use International Friends. They were great pre and post cruise last time. 
 

I am about convenience even if it costs more 
 

 

There is also a Sofitel attached to terminal 5 at LHR.  Nice hotel and was convenient when AA was using T5.  Unfortunately, AA now uses T3.

I fly United and they go to T2 but that’s good to know about T5

I just checked my booking for an August 2025 cruise roundtrip Southampton (booked direct with Princess). Clicked on "Flights" and got the message that "Flights are not yet available for your voyage." On the bottom of the page was a place to book Pre-cruise and Post-cruise transfers for myself and/or DW.

The options for Pre-Cuise are:

• NO TRANSFER
• TRANSFER: LHR/LGW AIRPORT TO SHIP - $64.00
• COACH: VICTORIA *COACH* STATION TO SHIP - $64.00

The options for Post-Cruise are:

• NO TRANSFER
• TRANSFER: SHIP TO LHR/LGW AIRPORT - $64.00
• COACH: SHIP TO VICTORIA *COACH* STATION - $64.00

Note that you don't distinguish between LHR and LGW when booking a transfer. If you don't book air through Princess, you enter your flight information under "Provide Independent Air Information".
